What this session covers: This session features Brigadier General Rhonda Cornum (Ret) PhD, MD, who will briefly share her experience as a Gulf War POW and her leadership role in establishing the U.S. Army’s Comprehensive Soldier Fitness (CSF) program under General George Casey. She will explain the science of resilience training and why it remains a critical component of both individual performance and organizational strength.

Following her presentation, First Sergeant (Ret.) Christopher Poe will lead an applied session on Spiritual Resilience, one of the core Mental Armor™ skills. This strength-based framework helps individuals tap into purpose, belief systems, and internal clarity to thrive under pressure and recover from adversity.

Speaker: Dr. Rhonda Cornum is a retired U.S. Army Brigadier General, physician, and former Director of Comprehensive Soldier Fitness. A Gulf War POW and trauma survivor, she went on to lead one of the most significant mental readiness initiatives in U.S. military history. Dr. Cornum holds both a PhD and an MD and continues to advise leaders in resilience, recovery, and peak human performance.

First Sergeant (Ret.) Christopher Poe served in the U.S. Army from 1990 to 2019, including combat, humanitarian, and peacekeeping deployments across the globe. As a senior infantry leader and former Drill Sergeant, Christopher helped prepare soldiers for the mental, emotional, and spiritual demands of service. Today, he serves as the Director of Community Development for 49 North™, where he works alongside Dr. Cornum to deliver resilience-focused training to military, government, healthcare, and corporate organizations. Christopher is a devoted father, husband, and passionate advocate for inner strength, mission clarity, and the well-being of those who serve.
